there is no plural of the phoenix- this is becaue in true mythology, the phoenix was just one bird- only one of it exists at a time- once it dies, a new one is born out of the ashes- so, you will never come across the situation where there is more than one phoenix at once. but i suppose if you looka t ti from a linguistic point of view, the plural would be phoenices.
