Any ideas on how many trees are killed each year by the yellow pages industry in the US?

I receive 6 full sized Yellow Pages directories at my house each year. This seems like a terrible waste of paper. And since paper comes from trees, that means lots of trees gave their lives to go directly into my recycle bin.

It's RECYCLED !! Last year Waste Management alone recycled enough paper to save 40 million trees..Man, where have you been??

The yellow pages industry kills a lot fewer trees than the newspaper industry kills, and I heard that only 30% of the paper they use is recycled. And that's being generous. What a waste!!

Lol That's funny but I do agree. Not to mention all the unwanted junk mail that comes everyday too.

As they cut down trees they replant them. Its not a huge deal, trees are a renewable resource.
